Helmet Law
Before you start, it is important to be aware of the fact that
wearing a helmet is dependant on the circumstance of vehicle
registration. However, for the interest of safety we advise
ALL Quad riders and passengers to wear their safety helmet at
all times during the use of a Quad. Would be pleased to answer
any further questions on this matter personally.
Driving Permit
The EU introduced in Febuary2005 the licence category ‘S’
with immediate effect. From the age of 16 years and upward,
this licence allows the driving of 3 or 4 wheeled small vehicles,
reaching a maximum speed of 45 km/h. e.g: Trikes, Quads or Microcars.
With the licence class ‘S’ it is allowed to drive
in normal traffic on public roads, town traffic and country
roads, it is however forbidden to drive on Motorways or restricted
roads.
Passenger
In Germany there are no laws to prevent the carriage of a passenger
with a Quad or ATV, however individual registration of each
vehicle does specify if a vehicle carries the permit or not
for a passenger, only vehicles with the permit for 2 riders
may carry a passenger.
